Cross Country Skiing is available at Spooky Brook Golf Course (908 722-1200 ext. 5003) 8am-4pm, 582 Elizabeth Avenue, Somerset, and on the trails of the Environmental Education Center at 190 Lord Stirling Road in Basking Ridge (908 722-1200 ext. 5002) daily from 9 am-5pm . Skiers are not permitted to go solo, so it is important to bring a friend or family member to share the enjoyment of the great outdoors. Please call the phone numbers listed next to each facility for additional information.
The Environmental Education Center has several miles of trails suitable for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing when weather conditions permit. The trails are mostly level and wide, making this beautifully rustic area particularly suitable for beginners or novice skiers and snowshoers. Please bring your own equipment, a limited amount of snowshoes are available to borrow at the front desk. Our building is open every day from 9:00am-5:00pm (closed on all holidays). For safety reasons, we suggest coming with a partner or friends. Skiing and snowshoeing are only allowed when there is more than four inches of snow on the trails.
